Reaction to The Fish By Elizabeth Bishop I decided to react to Elizabeth Bishop's The Fish on the grounds that the sonnet appears to be so basic, yet there is a lot to accumulate from understanding it. This is a story sonnet educated in the principal individual regarding a lady who gets a fish on a leased pontoon and, in the wake of gazing at him for some time, chooses to toss him back. The storyteller of this sonnet experiences a progression of stages where she is from the start disconnected from the fish, at that point fascinated by him, and afterward at last thoughtful towards him. In the absolute first lines of Bishop's sonnet, the storyteller gets the fish and treats him in that capacity. I got an enormous fish/and held him next to the pontoon/half out of water, with my snare/quick in a side of his mouth (Bishop 665). She has quite recently gotten a fish and is bringing him onto the vessel. She appears to be exceptionally disengaged from this fish, who is only the objective of a game - angling.
